This is a fanmade adaptation of the comic "Really Red" by FalseKnees. It involves two crows having a humorously verbose argument about how to describe the color of leaves. I have remained faithful to the original comic but have made my own interpretations of scenes alongside an extended opening.
I chose to create a fan animation for my end of year to challenge myself. As an art student, I enjoy stepping outside of my comfort zone and drawing different things. I had never made an animation before and felt that doing one would be a learning experience for future projects. I am a huge fan of FalseKnee's work and picked a comic that I found humorous. As a bird enthusiast, crows are often depicted negatively in media despite their intelligence. I felt the original comic humanizes them and an animation would show them acting even more so.
My main program for the animation was Clip Studio Paint EX. Most of the frames were drawn on paper and then digitalized. The animation was exported as an AVI file, and dialogue and SFX were added in Adobe After Effects.
My name is Leo and I'm a student studing Digital Design. As a hobby, art is something that I enjoy improving and learning more about. My artwork tends to focus primarily on stylized animals and nature, often simplistic yet vibrant. The fan animation above is my first attempt at a complete animation alongside video editing. In my free time, I enjoy practicing my art, gaming, cooking and birdwatching.
